Perfect morning run

The fog was so thick I couldn't see the 2 snowmachines up ahead. Trail conditions were interesting and that was the most unusual angle I have ever gone down the gully, but first full run under my belt and it was so beautiful. The fog created long frost needles all over everything, and stitched my eyelashes together. Slowly the yellow glow of sun wept through the mists and shapes lingered etherally in and out the woods, shapes and traces of light mingling with dog prints and moose hooves.

By the time we came home and hit the last hills everything was clear blue right across to all the mountains and glaciers across the water. Dog sledding can sometimes feel like flying, especially in such a massive vista. Big smiles when I came of the trail and fed them all salmon pieces.

We're cooking up a storm today, about 20 people over for tea tonight and bags everywhere while we also pack up for a camping trip tomorrow. It will be spell binding if conditions stay the same. We're just finishing up making chocolate cake and heading out for a lunchtime ski.
